EU referendum: Brexit campagners

The UK could remain in the EU because David Cameron got some agreements.Ahead of the referendum David Cameron secured an agreement with other European Union leaders to change the terms of Britain’s membership. He says the deal, which will take effect immediately if the UK votes to remain in the EU, gives Britain “special” status within the 28 nation club, and will help sort out some of the things British people say they don’t like about the EU, such as high levels of immigration and giving up the ability to run our own affairs

  • Child benefit – Migrant workers will still be able to send child benefit payments back to to their home country – Mr Cameron had wanted to end this practice – but the payments will be set at a level reflecting the cost of living in their home country rather than the full UK rate
  • Migrant welfare payments – Mr Cameron says cutting the amount of benefits low paid workers from other EU nations can claim when they take a job in the UK will remove one of the reasons people come to Britain in such large numbers(critics say it will make little difference). He did not get the blanket ban he wanted. New arrivals will not be able to claim tax credits and other welfare payments straight away – but will gradually gain the right to more benefits the longer they stay, at a rate yet to be decided.
  • Keeping the pound – Mr Cameron has said Britain will never join the euro. He secured assurances that the eurozone countries will not discriminate against Britain for having a different currency. Any British money spent on bailing out eurozone nations that get into trouble will also be reimbursed.
  • Protection for the City of London – Safeguards for Britain’s large financial services industry to prevent eurozone regulations being imposed on it
  • Running our own affairs – For the first time, there will be a clear commitment that Britain is not part of a move towards “ever closer union” with other EU member states – one of the core principles of the EU. This will be incorporated in an EU treaty change. Mr Cameron also secured a “red card” system for national parliaments. It will be easier for governments to band together to block unwanted legislation. If 55% of national EU parliaments object to a piece of EU legislation it will be rethought. Critics say it is not clear if this would ever be used in practice.

Summary: Chapter 20

Jaggers takes Pip to London, where the country boy is amazed and displeased by the stench and the thronging crowds in such areas as Smithfield. Jaggers seems to be an important and powerful man: hordes of people wait outside his office, muttering his name among themselves. Pip meets Jaggers’s cynical, wry clerk, Wemmick.

Summary: Chapter 21

Summary: Chapter 22

Pip asks Herbert to help him learn to be a gentleman, and, after a feast, the two agree to live together. Herbert subtly corrects Pip’s poor table manners, gives him the nickname “Handel,” and tells him the whole story of Miss Havisham. When she was young, her family fortune was misused by her unruly half brother, and she fell in love with—and agreed to marry—a man from a lower social class than her own. This man convinced her to buy her half brother’s share of the family brewery, which he wanted to run, for a huge price. But on their wedding day, the man never appeared, instead sending a note which Miss Havisham received at twenty minutes to nine—the time at which she later stopped all her clocks. It was assumed that Miss Havisham’s lover was in league with her half brother and that they split the profits from the brewery sale. At some later point, Miss Havisham adopted Estella, but Herbert does not know when or where.

Summary: Chapter 23

The next day, Pip visits the unpleasant commercial world of the Royal Exchange before going to Matthew Pocket’s house to be tutored and to have dinner. The Pockets’ home is a bustling, chaoticplace where the servants run the show. Matthew is absentminded but kind, and his wife is socially ambitious but not well born; the children are being raised by the nurse. Pip’s fellow students are a strange pair: Bentley Drummle, a future baronet, is oafish and unpleasant, and a young man named Startop is soft and delicate. At dinner, Pip concentrates on his table manners and observes the peculiarities of the Pockets’ social lives.

Summary: Chapter 24

Pip returns to Jaggers’s office in order to arrange to share rooms with Herbert. There Pip befriends the lively Wemmick, who invites him to dinner. Pip sees Jaggers in the courtroom, where he is a potent and menacing force, frightening even the judge with his thundering speeches.

Summary: Chapter 25

Pip continues to get to know his fellow students and the Pockets, attending dinners at both Wemmick’s and Jaggers’s. Wemmick’s house is like something out of a dream, an absurd “castle” in Walworth that he shares with his “Aged Parent.” Pip observes that Wemmick seems to have a new personality when he enters his home: while he is cynical and dry at work, at home he seems jovial and merry.

Summary chapter 10

Mesut Ozil leaked contract

  • Real Madrid negotiated a buy-back option from Arsenal for Mesut Ozil on a deal that is worth €50 million, according to a transfer document that was published today on the Football Leaks website. The most striking element is the clause that gives Madrid a 48-hour first option on Ozil should Arsenal agree a sale for their playmaker to another Spanish club.
  • The option does not apply if Arsenal were to sell Ozil to a club outside of Spain and would require Madrid to at least match the deal that had been agreed elsewhere. It is a very similar clause to the one Arsenal had inserted in their deal to sell Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and which they subsequently did not take up when he moved to Chelsea.
  • The breakdown of the Ozil payments is also revealing although does confirm a total fee that was worth around £42 million that has always been reported by Telegraph Sport. The changing exchange rate makes that total around £38 million today.
  •  There is a confidentiality clause in the document that forbids either party from disclosing the details of the deal to a third party without the prior written consent of the other party.
  • The publication of this document, then, will come as an embarrassment to both clubs. After the Bale and Anthony Martial transfer documents were also disclosed, it will further heighten concern within football at what over potentially sensitive documents could soon be published on the Football Leaks website.

Entry 1

The book that I red was “The Maleficent Seven ” The book opened when Tanith the main character returned to her old apartments in London. She believed nobody would look for there as only an idiot would return to their residence. The fact that the cleavers were there insulted her more than anything else. She travelled to the rooftops where she thought she could escape, however, tho cleavers were on patrol. Almost killed by them, she decapitated one and sliced through the other. At the same time, Billy-Ray interrogated Jethro to find out what the sanctuary knew. After they regrouped, they proceeded with their plan.

Tanith realised that she would need a people with a number of different skills. For that reason, she recruited Black Annis (with whom she had a run-in in the past, Sabine (who was an old friend) and Dusk. At the same time, Billy-Ray searched for Springeehled Jack(who was trapped in London under a Sanctuary blockade with no way out) and another member. Each were promised various incentives for their help. Dusk was promised the name of the Vampire who turned him, Sabine was promised a clean start from her life of crime, Springheeled Jack was promised details of his origin and species and Black Annis was promised a cure for her condition. They meet to discuss their task: to collect & destroy the four God-killerweapons. Mourinho received a public vote of confidence from the club after the side were beaten at home by Southampton last month , but the pressure is mounting on him after his team Roman Abramovich was not at Stamford Bridge to witness the latest setback in Chelsea’s increasingly shambolic (shambles)  title defence, meaning that the owner missed the crowd repeatedly giving Mourinho their backing as Liverpool  cruised towards an impressive 3-1 victory.’s sixth defeat in 11 matches.Mourinho, who took training at Cobham on Sunday as he steels himself for the crucial Champions League tie against Dynamo, is hanging on for now but he can ill afford too many more slips. It will not have escaped his attention two former Chelsea managers, Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti, have been linked with his job. Analytical Essay

Language is not only communication, but means establishing and maintaining relationship with other people. We use language for our own purpose to manipulate or influence or identify a situation as we wish and to convey nuance of meaning and personal intention. This can be achived through various means and conversation was and will probably remain the first and foremost. Is not hard to conclude that spoken language differs from the text language. But while it requires less effort to produce it and understand it for the participants of the conversation find it for more complexthan the written text of any kind.Spoken text is usually preserved by tape recording which many preserve far more than a text  its narrowest meaning. e.g coughing.Referring back to “agenda-setting in speech and text”, when you are text-ting the evidence of age do  matter because when you are writing the  opponent replying can figure out your age “you are a teenager” e.g I am w8ing 4 u 2 pay ,or you are an “old person (25-38)”e.g sow how are you doing?. The way because they`r different its because teenagers normally abbreviate their text messages but old people do not because maybe is not their “style” or the`r too grown for text abbreviation, and some teenager use words when their speaking that old people don`t use, because they will say” that is not that is not the formal way to speak “,but young people when they speak they know what  their saying . If  it is spoken language  many people by listening to you speaking can explain your age and where you from (area).Agenda-setting is a formal way to set a topic in a determinate space of time e.g How was your day?.
